The New York Times' Adam Liptak reports that Bryan A. Garner, word maven, author of Garner's Modern American Usage and editor of Black's Law Dictionary, has interviewed the justices on their writing styles and gotten some pointers for lawyers anxious to influence them through Supreme Court briefs.
