The purpose of this paper is to establish a starting point for the discussions on linguistic discrepancies. Section I outlines the problem of discrepancies between English, French and Spanish versions of WTO legal texts. Section II provides examples of the types of issues and discrepancies that can arise and provides a preliminary categorization of discrepancies.
